The brunette frowned heavily at the sight, the sound of the elder one's outburst. So he didn't like that guy either? He had to have not have, otherwise he wouldn't be so angry! He'd never seen anyone that angry before! It was startling to witness, but at least it wasn't being directed at him.
The sensation of a hand placing itself upon the boy's shoulders awoke him from his thoughts, green eyes darting up to see...
"Granma?" his eyes widened. "Granma!" His arms wrapped themselves around the female, but she did not hug back. That was usual for him, it seemed. Granma was always like that. Besides, she seemed distracted. She was still looking at the other two.
"Granma?"
Celia finally looked upon her grandson, those eyes of hers examining him, looking for any sign of harm. Hmm. He was lacking a shirt... and there was a whipmark on his hand, but that could be easily mended... Still, it vexed her to be able to notice any kind of mark upon the boy.
"Where's your shirt?"
The child pouted and looked away, placing his arms behind his back. "I dunno..."

After a heated discussion between the devious creature and the royal figure, the latter turning towards the two others, a few words were muttered in an quiet manner, the speaker trying his best to sound calm and collected. Clearing his throat, the Nightwalker prince brushed some unruly pieces of midnight black bangs out of his vision.
"Um, I'm sorry you both had to see that, I just get so angry sometimes," he spoke with a chuckle at the end. In the latter part of his sentence, he had specifically addressed the youngest one in the room, offering the boy and apologetic smile. Meanwhile, the lip-ringed man was currently scowling at all three of them; he despised them! Shaking his head, the man's stolen blue eyes narrowed, he was just getting ready to leave the room when...
"Oh, and you are going where, Demitri?" he gave a half-hearted chuckle, "you're not leaving, I have a job for you to do..."
"Psh, I'm leaving, I'm going home..."
"No, you're going with him."
"...What?"
Glaring at the taller man, the Prince snorted in disgust before turning to the female with a soft grin, his dark eyes casting a mature look despite his young appearance.
"I didn't know if you'd approve, but I figured the best way to keep your grandson safe from that monster is to put him in a protection position, like the lad's bodyguard. I figure if he harms a single hair on dear Cricket's head," he used this pause to smile almost evilly, "then I'll have the perfect excuse to behead him without a second thought."
He was still smiling, blatantly ignoring the fear-stricken gaze of Demitri.

"That isn't too horrid of an idea," Celia's lips seemed to curve into a slight smile at the notion of it, the mental image of Demitri having to submit to the will of a mere child. Yes. It would do for now. Yet as she looked at her grandson to see if his emotions matched, she found his face contorted to a look of pure disgust.
Well. She supposed it natural for the boy to still harbor bad feelings towards the other; he was a child. Children held grudges, and this wound was still fresh. Maybe still bleeding.
"Cricket?"
"I don't like it." His eyebrows furrowed. He crossed his arms. "I don't want to see him anymore!"
He knew perfectly well what a bodyguard was; Grandpa had them all the time whenever he went to do things at one of his buildings. But... if that man was Cricket's bodyguard, then wouldn't he do the opposite of protect him? Why was the Prince being so cruel to him now?
"I don't want a bodyguard! I want him to ..." he fidgeted, hands occasionally tensing into fists. "I want him to disappear!" Because of that man, his whole life had been ruined!

"Wh-WHAT?!"
There was an equal share of bad feelings shared between the child and the older male at the mention of the new situation. Shaking his head, Demitri glared with his single blue eye at the three before him, feeling a little cornered as he took a step back.
"This is so...Hmph!" crossing his arms, the Nightwalker pouted his lips as he turned his nose up at them, "I refuse, you can't give me such a stupid job. Besides, I hate that kid as much as he hates me, and there's no way I'm going to protect that brat!"
"Then I'll kill you..."
The room went silent as the smiling Prince spoke to the one-eyed man, the cruelest of chuckles passing through his lips. It was obviously apparent that the royal Nightwalker wanted nothing more than to end the other's life with whatever excuse he could find. Audibly swallowing the lump in his throat, Demitri remained silent as a bead of sweat poured down the side of his face.
"Meh, yah should listen ta him, Brother..."
It was Maddox, leaning in the doorway, gnawing on the remains of an apple, chewing on the core with a passive grin.

Eh?! What was that other guy doing here? Why was he smiling like that?!
The child's eyes began to mist over, his body trembling with a newfound helplessness. He didn't want to deal with this people anymore. He wanted to just go home and forget, but he wasn't able to. It made him so frustrated! Ever since last night, his life had been hell!
His vision was clouding. He could barely see. He sniffled, wiped at his eyes frantically.
Why was he crying?!
"Cricket..." For a moment, Celia thought of trying to comfort the boy. He was taking this harder than she had expected. Part of her wanted to take her usual cold attitude, but seeing him cry made it difficult.
However, he wouldn't give her the chance to act on these thoughts. His feelings overwhelming him, Cricket fled from the room, a choked sob escaping his throat.

A troubled expression appeared on the royal Nightwalker's face as he watched the boy run out from the room crying, a large frown playing out on his youthful face. Staring at the empty doorway, he furrowed his brow, briskly walking after the child.
"Hmph, I'm leaving, this is stupid. I don't have to follow his damn orders, the brat."
Looking at the female, the Nightwalker spat his visible disgust in the form of a glob of saliva on the expensive-looking couch. Nodding his head as he bid the woman farewell, Demitri smiled as he turned towards the doorway and the younger male. Dully digging his finger into his empty eye socket, he stared at the horned Nightwalker and frowned, receiving a frown back.
"What?"
"Shut up, Maddox."
"Cricket? Please don't wander off, it's not safe!"
Following after the sobbing child, the Prince donned a worried expression. It was true, it wasn't safe for him to wander off alone, especially since he was so young and his mixed blood. There could be other Nightwalkers who weren't as 'open' as he around the manor.
"Please come back! Cricket!?"

"NO." the child was on the verge of an even bigger outburst now. He couldn't take it. He certainly didn't want to listen to other male right now, even if he was the Prince. He just wanted to go home and get away from all of this. He wanted to be with his Granma and not have to think about these people.
His body beginning to shake, he soon fell out of his run, instead taking a shaky stop and spinning around in one swift motion.
"Leave me ALONE! I don't want to talk to you!" Angry tears ran in thin streams down hot, pink cheeks. "I don't want a bodyguard! I don't want to see him and I don't want to see YOU."
He was becoming progressively louder. Just loud enough, in fact, to cause his grandmother to leave the living room in search of the boy. Maybe she was growing worried. Maybe she, too, wanted to go home. Maybe she was looking for Cricket's new 'bodyguard'.
"I thought you were gonna punish him! I thought he was gonna die! You said you'd hurt him!" Cricket took a subconscious step backwards, hands clenching into fists. "I... I... I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU SO MUCH!!"
The tears steadily began to flow again in burning streams down his cheeks. He didn't want to cry. He didn't want to look weak... but he was so... so angry!

The Prince didn't even so much as flinch as he stood there, looking down at the child as he listened to his angry outburst, having gotten used to the sound of anger in such times of war. So, after the child finished, the Prince sighed heavily as he parted his lips to speak. He never got in a word, however, but a young woman briskly walked up to the two of them, huffing as she went. There were others, too, other Nightwalkers and they were all staring angrily at the boy.
"You! How DARE you address his Royal Majesty that way!"
Grabbing the boy's shoulder roughly, the woman huffed at the child, looked towards the Prince, then back at the boy with an angry expression. Staring at the woman, the royal Nightwalker glared at her, crossing his arms.
"Your Majesty, forgive me, but he was talking disrespectfully to you. I had to put him in his pl-"
"Leave my company now," he said sternly, eyes gazing down to the younger male, "he may address me how he wishes, so leave us now."
Scared, the woman nodded as she and the others backed away, going back to their own business. The Prince sighed again, dropping to one so that he could be on the same level as the child, a tiny smile breaking out on his face.
"Sorry, Cricket..."

The boy sniffled loudly, his frame still trembling. He felt so powerless. He had thought the Prince was a nice person, maybe even a friend, so why was he forcing him to keep dealing with that guy? Why did no one see his side of this? Even Granma supported the Prince!
"Leave me alone." Cricket's voice shook. The words that woman had said to him just now stung and agitated his anger even more. What did she know? Nothing! He hated her, too, just like he hated everyone else that was doing this to him!
He backed away a few steps further, eyes filling to the brim once again with stinging tears and a pained sense of confusion. This was too overwhelming, too frustrating for him. He bit softly at his bottom lip, trying to look away from the Prince, before wiping at his eyes again with clenched fists.
"I don't want to talk to you," he whimpered, his voice on the cusp of sobbing. "Go away!"

Frowning deeply, the Prince got down on one knee as he got down on the other's level, grabbing hold onto on the lad's hands as he addressed him directly. There was a certain sadness in the elder male's eyes, as his lips parted lightly. It seemed the royal Nightwalker was fumbling over the words in this mind before he came up with a concrete answer.
"Listen to me!" he said sternly, surprisingly tough for addressing the child, "just listen!"
Shaking his head, the Prince let out a grand sigh before he continued, "I only want to keep you save, please understand. There are creatures out there that would kill you if they knew about you, including my kind. Especially Demitri. I'm only doing this to protect you, because if I threaten him to watch over you, no harm can come to you."
The Prince forced a chuckle.
"Even if he is a total rotten slime ball..."

Kill him? There were people, things who wanted him dead? Why?! He hadn't done anything!
Fear reverberated within the boy's eyes during the Prince's speech, a final set of tears streaming down reddened cheeks. His eyes were rimmed with pink from crying so much, puffy and moist, still beaded with tears.
"Why do they wanna kill me?" his voice was soft. He had calmed down, but there was confusion in his voice. One of his hands managed to escape the other's grasp to wipe at his eyes. So much stuff had happened and no one had told him anything.
Meanwhile, a (very worried) Celia scoured the hallways for her grandson, that worry evident within the frown marring her face and the furrowed crease in her brow.
Oh. There was a woman coming up the hallway. Maybe she had seen him.
Her arm shot out abruptly, tapping the other woman. "Excuse me," she tried to steady her voice. "I'm looking for my grandson. You haven't happened to have seen him, have you?"

"Hm? Oh, do you mean the young man who was being very rude to His Majesty? He's over there, I think he's still being a delinquent!"
Although she really didn't aim to offend, the woman's statement was spoken with a hint of disgust. Shaking her head, the woman pointed her finger towards the direction she had just come from, cocking a small smile. "Just back down that way, ma'am."
"Because you're a freak, boy..."
As if appearing from the very shadows themselves a few yards behind the boy, that devilish and evil Nightwalker, smiling his cruel smile as he nodded to the two of them. Chuckling, he walked closer and closer, each step more foreboding as the last. "Your existence goes against not only our own laws, but the very laws of nature. It's kind of funny."
Receiving a deadly glare from the Prince, Demitri waved a hand in the air, gleaming down at the youngest male with a toothy grin.
"Don't worry, Your Highness," he said in a mocking tone, "I'm only doing what you commanded me to do..."

Some young man was being rude to the Prince? It couldn't possibly have been... then again, it could. He did have a temper, and he was still a child. He hadn't developed all of his sense of ration yet. He was still unrestrained with his emotions, and in this case, she couldn't blame him, but...
Celia still couldn't help but have a hard time believing this woman was talking about her grandson.
"Are you sure it was him?" She blinked, a small frown settling upon her lips. "He's... he's about four-foot eleven... stick-thin... and his eyes are green?" If anything, the child's eye color would be the most identifiable part about him. They weren't like a Nightwalker's eyes; they were much more like those of that horrid mother of his.
Meanwhile, said child sniffled, looking up at the other. That confused expression quickly reverted back to one of anger, that particular malice he bore in his heart for the other man.
"Go away!" His hands curled tightly into fists. He wasn't so angry at the Prince anymore, but he still hated this man. He hated him with every fiber in that puny being he possessed.
And what was that about him being a freak!?
"I'm normal, okay!? I'm not a freak or a monster, like you! Ask Granma! She'll tell you!" The rest of Demitri's words he didn't understand, nor did he understand why people wanted him dead, but he wouldn't stand being called a freak! He was human, just like everyone else!

There was an expression of sureness on the woman's face as she pointed in the same direction once again, mild disgust in here dark eyes. Nodding as she spoke, the woman smiled a small smile.
"Yes, yes, ma'am, he's just as you described...Green eyes and everything."
Bowing her head, the woman excused herself, claiming she had much work to do as she walked by the elder woman.
"What? Ask that whore? Psh, her words mean nothing to me, it's a shame really that she hasn’t breathed a word to you about your heritage!" Walking past the child with a cold grin, the devious Nightwalker brushed past the royal male, whispering something into the other's ear. Whatever it was, the Prince bristled upon hearing it. Turning towards the creep, the Prince saw that Demitri was out of range and cursed under his breath.
"Oh, and you should get Granny to tell you all about Mommy and Daddy, brat!" murmured the devilish Nightwalker to the boy as he disappeared from view.

With utmost contempt the boy showed his feeling for the other Nightwalker by sticking his tongue out at his disappearing form. That guy was so... so gross, a - and what was he saying about his granma?! Whatever he had called her had to have been bad!
Scowling, his gaze directing towards the Prince, he crossed his arms.
"He's stupid! What does he know? I don't even have a mom and dad!" If so, Granma would have told him, right? She had never lied or kept secrets before! If he had a mom and dad, she would tell him!
Shaking off whatever hint of disturbance she had, Celia began to walk towards the direction the other woman had pointed to. If Cricket had really been as rude as she said he had been, then he really deserved a good scolding. Running off like that definitely deserved one!
Ever since his birth, that child had been nothing but a source of worry for her, as much as she hated to admit... just like someone else she knew.
