"Please, I just want to go home..."
That was all the child could manage to utter, albeit weakly, before suddenly feeling that sharp jab in his neck. Then there was only silence as the boy stiffened, eyes widening yet dulling, finally closing shut as his body gave way.
His vision was gone and his hearing was dull and muffled. He couldn't have even tried to make out what the two men were saying.
In mere seconds, his world went completely black as he was rendered entirely unconscious.

As he held the limp, lifeless body of the child in one hand, the man gave a silent smirk to his companion as he rose on hand to remove his sunglasses. The creature had the most beautiful crimson eyes the world had seen, aside from the dullness in the scarlet coloring. When he spoke to the shorter one, his gaze was just barely off, as he wasn't looking at the other.
He wasn't not out of disrespect, but out of blindness.
"Maddox, I want you to take him home, and get some..."
There was a pause as the man's head lowered in the general direction of the boy's body in his arms, but not his eyes. He stared for the longest time, this Nightwalker as his tongue played over the silver ring in his lip.
"...get some answers out of this Dawnwalker..."
It seemed like an eternity later, when the darkness of the child's consciousness was interrupted by the sounds of chains rustling in a rhythm and a pull upon the young one's wrist. The blood seemed to instantly drain from the veins as what seemed like cold snake wrapped tightly around the boy's wrist, causing him to dangle from the ceiling.
In reality, there was a very happy horned Nightwalker stringing up the child with black chains.

With a soft sliver of a moan, the child's eyes began to slowly flutter open. It was sudden, and only partial as his eyes only opened partly, remaining half-lidded and momentarily dull. Having his pressure points so suddenly violated had taken its toll on him, made him grow weak, utterly weak.
For a few solid moments, his eyes remained blank and sightless, until that usual healthy shine renewed itself and the milky glaze was lost.
His throat was dry, disabling his speaking skills. The most he was able to manage was a tiny croak, barely audible and hardly noticeable. He was still much too drowsy to function.
Still, still something inside the boy - though he was unable to make out the sound of those wretched chains clinking - told him that something about whatever was happening to him was very, very wrong.

"Wakey wakey, Dawny!!"
Without warning, an icy cold explosion of water crashed onto the boy's flesh. It was so bitter and chilling; it felt like the plunge of death itself. Standing now in front of the lad with a metal bucket in hands, a familiar horned individual smirked as he threw down said bucket behind him.
"Hmmm, you really are just a kid, that's a little depressing..."
Shaking his head as those pupiless black eyes looked over the boy with scrutiny, one hand grabbing the other's chin, Maddox sighed heavily as he let go and walked behind the chained one.
"Hrms, now now Dawny, you gotta tell me where the other Daywalkers are, I know they're in that city, so be a good boy and tell Uncle Maddox where they are, 'kay?"
Meanwhile, the soft footsteps echoed around a black marble dome-shaped room. Bright burning torches hung from the walls and cast a gentle flaming glow around the dome. Humming an annoyed tune in the center of the room was a young man sitting on a grand and elegant thrown. Brushing away the great ebony locks that covered his face, the man looked over to the approaching figure and smiled.
"Ha hah, Demitri, it's been a while..."
"Your Majesty, I've come to repo-"
"Hmph, cut the crappy formalities, you know it annoys me when you talk like that..."

That sudden "shower", chilly and brisk and harsh to his senses, managed to wake him up completely. It just made the brunette cranky. His memory was beginning to return to him, as well as his voice.
This guy was one of the freaks who attacked him earlier while he was on his way home.
He must have taken him here.
"Why do you keep asking me that?" The child frowned, his eyes unable to keep track of the other's movements for long. Suddenly he had just traced that ominous voice coming from behind him, and it made him afraid.
"I - I told you I don't know anything!" The unfortunate creature was trying to hide the wavering in his voice. "Why can't you leave me alone?"

"Hmph! Try to lie as much as you want, I can see through your act Dawny!"
There was a sudden snap in the air as the creature's prized whip lashed out to the side, a practice run. Eyeing that dangling form with those black eyes, the horned individual was totally unconvinced as to what the poor child was saying.
"Whelp, it's time to start your little interrogation Dawny, and it'll end as soon as yah tell us about the other Daywalkers!"
Two hazy red eyes stared in the general direction of the seated Prince, said royalty was currently curling his ungodly long hair in his fingers, listening to the Nightwalker give his report. He was unfortunately interrupted my a young girl running into the scene.
"Sire! Sire! The blood test results from the fugitive are back!"
"Heh? Hrm, let me see them."
A long drawn out pause.
"Demitri," the Prince did not sound happy.
"Yes, sire?"
"Go stop your idiot brother, the Dawnwalker is a lucky one."
The tearing of fabric delighted the Nightwalker as he tore the boy's shirt clean off his chained form, only to discover natural lines in the flesh of the child's back. It alarmed him to no end.
"What are THESE?!"

The boy frowned even more, his frustration rising.
"They're birthmarks! I've always had them!" His tone was snippy, angered, and who could blame him? All he wanted was to go home, but these jerks wouldn't let him! With agitation he rustled a bit at his chains, wanting so much for them to snap so he could maybe have a bit higher of a chance of leaving.
"You'll be sorry when my granma hears about this..." This sentence was muttered lowly, from his throat.

In an angry fashion, the horned male gritted his teeth and threw his whip to the ground; he knew the laws and how breaking one could resulting in grave consequences. Walking a few feet away from the chained youth, then back, the strange creature paced, mumbling to himself something in another language before finally...
"Rrrgh! This is so retarded!! You suck Dawny!!"
He stormed out as soon as he spoke, leaving the poor boy in the room all alone.
It remained quiet, there was not a sound, nothing audible aside from the soft footfalls of someone approaching the room. Step after step after step, calmly too.
Then silence once more.
Until, that is, that man with the lip ring walked in. He had what looked like white bandages wrapped around his head, covering his eyes.
"Hello Dawnwalker, has my brother treated you well?" Sarcasm oozed like honey within the elder male's words.

The child scowled. What was he doing here? What was going on?
A burning anger, an indignance shot through the young male’s mind in an instant. He wanted to get back at these men. He wanted revenge so badly!
With a growl, a snarl, he spat at the man with the lipring, beginning to tug and struggle at his own chains.
“I hate you! I hate you! Let me go!”
He wanted to go home. Why couldn’t they understand that!?

He did not see it, but that man definitely felt the wad of saliva as it crashed into his cheek. He felt it, but did not flinch the tiniest bit; he merely smiled softly. Reaching into the pocket of his jacket, he pulled out a small handkerchief and used it to dab away the spit on his face.
"Well, despite being so young and weak," he said with an insulting tone, "you seem to have plenty of spunk."
Adjusting the white bandages across his eyes slightly, a trickle of something red running down his face near his left ear, the man kept his smile as he pocketed his handkerchief. Turning to the boy once more, he shook his head in partial annoyance.
"I'm curious, just how can a creature like you, a mix of all three species, even exist? You should know...You defy the laws of nature; how grotesque."
The man turned his head away, shaking it once more as to put emphasis on his words, portraying that shameful look with a blind expression on his face.

This man wasn't just a jerk; he was insane too!
"What are you talking about?" that anger the boy possessed so recently faded a bit, being replaced second by second by confusion. There was only one species he was of, wasn't there? If he was, Granma or Grandpa would have said so.
Wouldn't they?
A small frown played at the child's lips, eyebrows furrowed.
"I think you're crazy."

"Such a biased statement, everyone is a little crazy, look at who you're talking to; a creature that by human standards, should be a myth. And you call me crazy, ha ha..."
Shaking his head, the man paced in a circle around the room, hands wringing slightly behind his back as he occasionally turned his head in the general direction of the boy; his bandages were slipping off.
And blood was seeping out from underneath them.
"Tell me, I'm curious," he laughed quietly to himself, "what is your name, dear boy?"
His voice was like audible poison, it almost hurt to listen to it.
"And...what color are those...eyes of yours?"
He didn't even fix them when half of the bandages fell away, revealing bloody flesh and an eyeless socket.

The brunette's cheeks suddenly became puffed with air as he pouted from his own childish anger. He hated this man, he absolutely hated him. But this man was stronger than him, and he didn't want to make him angry. This reasoning was the only the only thing that made him answer the question.
"Cricket..." he muttered, looked away. That stream of blood passing down the other's face looked weird. In fact, "I still think you're weird!"
And then his eyes happened to wander back towards the nightwalker. He had chosen to shoot a nasty glare at him at the wrong time. Instead of that gaze of his piercing into bandages, he found himself staring into those bloody and sightless eye sockets. He was eyeless!
The child suddenly found any other emotion other than fear sucked from his body, not even having the will to scream, as he simply stared at the other in a state of shock.

Letting the now-bloody bandages drop to the floor, the strange man had begun to chuckle when he hear nothing from the boy, it was wonderful, that silence. A few paces towards the boy, those two empty holes were staring at him, even without eyes they were.
"I'm glad I've got you, heh, attention now, Cricket..."
The name left his lips like a poison, making it difficult to listen to.
Placing a hand on the boy's face, he smiled at the frightened child, open red maws oozing out bloody tears as he leaned in close. There was only a few inches between the boy and the sockets now.
"I've been called many things, but this is the first time 'weird' as been my adjective...I'll make sure you won't rot in the caves, I'll have them burn your body right away..."
He grinned borderline evilly, then placed a thumb over each one of those frightened emerald eyes.

The brunette still found himself paralyzed, a new feeling, a feeling of horrible nausea mixing in with the terror that had formed. He couldn'f react, couldn't scream, yet he could feel the acidic bile rising in his throat.
He gulped, forcing it back down, eyes subconsciously shutting as the man pressed his thumbs against them.
He still found himself unable to move, yet his voice returned feebly, "Stop it. Leave me alone!"
If only he could use his powers right now!
