"Huh?" Nanashi turned and stared at the group. What seemed like an eternity passed between them before finally Nanashi spoke. "And... you are?"
The younger Fearless brother practically fell over from shock and disbelief. "Whaaaaa!? What the hell do you mean; "and you are"!? We're Fearless! Remember!? FEARLESS!!!"
Nanashi blinked. Once. Twice. Before, finally he seemed to remember. "Oh yeah! Didn't we kick your guys' sorry asses a year ago?"

Chck
The older of the Fearless brothers slammed down his deliciously cool Frosty, the hollow sound of hard cardboard hitting the faux marble of the table echoed through the dining area as an erratic spasm caused the elder brother's right eye to twitch. It seemed the other male had gotten anything but smarter.
"Indeed," the older boy said with a 'hmph.'
Kazuki, rather torn between talking to the two and staring at the cashier, quickly stuttered out his order of two Jr. cheeseburger deluxes and at the last minute, a third. If he could, the boy probably would have ordered the same sandwich as Nanashi had, except for the fact that bacon always made his throat sore, (old childhood oddity).
Bowing his head in a quick manner to the cashier, the grey-haired youth finally directed his attention towards Fearless.
"Y-you two..."
"Hmph, don't act all innocent and surprised, Kazuki-chan..." said the elder brother with a nasty little grin.

The younger brother grinned. "Yeah. I'm surprised you have the gall to show up here, Kazuki-kun. And with Nameless at that!" He shook his head and said with a mocking "tsk"; "The boss ain't gonna be too happy 'bout that."
Nanashi tilted his head. "Boss? You mean... the boss of Organization X?" Well, being the not-so-bright person he was, he couldn't quite piece this together. How would they know what the "boss" would think?

"Not only will the boss be mad, but a little birdie told me that a certain blonde has been wandering the streets looking for you, hmph. I don't suppose you know who, Ka-chaa~aan?"
A nasty smile appeared on the elder brother's face as he finished off his delicious Frosty, setting the cardboard cup gently down on the table.
"I suggest you keep a keen eye open, you wouldn't want to go back, now you'd you?"
Finally, Kazuki gave a rather semi-angry frown. "Wh-why are you telling us all of this? Aren't we supposed to be enemies? Aren't you both supposed to be trying to take me in? Aren't you...supposed...to be..."
The grey-haired kitten trailed off as his emerald eyes caught something in the background, widening ten times their size as his mouth hung open in utter horror.
"Hmph, that's why, little kitten, that's why we're not trying...We don't have to." A smug and arrogant grin as the older Fearless boy laughed a hollow laughter, while Homare waved to the terrified Sacrifice from the opposite side of the dining area.

"Huh...?" Nanashi was, understandably, quite confused. Until he followed Kazuki's gaze... and spotted the blonde haired fighter. "Ch'kuso!" He cursed, grabing Kazuki by the arm as he started to head out of the fast food resturant.
"Hey! What about your order?" The cashier shouted at them, holding up a large paper bag filled with presumabely hamburgers.
"Oh yeah!" Nanashi backtracked and grabbed the bag before running out the resturant, Kazuki in tow.
Crap, crap, crap! Crap on a stick! How the hell'd he find us!? He thought to himself as he started to run back towards his apartment, still holding tightly onto Kazuki's arm.

Everything went by so fast; it was like life was just one big, messy blur. There was nothing to hear or see, just the blood pumping furiously in his legs as he ran along. Kazuki was momentarily blind as he saw the world fade into blurry darkness.
Half-way to the apartment, the grey-haired boy came to a painful halt, wrenching his hand from the other's as he skidded to a stop, standing behind the other boy.
That horrible look in those green eyes, it was so damn painful.
The first wave of tears came softly in a few short sniffles, pouring down those pale cheeks unchecked and falling to the ground. Kazuki looked like a little boy whose pet dog just got hit by a car, or some equally crushing event.
"N-Nana...sh-shi-kun..."he just barely muttered as the tears flooded down his face.
Why was life so damn hard? Where did it all start to go horribly out of control?
The crying kitten flung himself upon the elder male, buried in face into Nanashi's chest as he cried and wailed loudly.
His soul was hurting so very much...

((XD Dude, Kazuki went emo!))
Nanashi gasped as he caught the younger cat boy into his arms. "K-Kazuki!?" He stared down at him, eyes wide in alarm, as he cried. "Kazuki..." Closing his eyes tightly he embraced him tightly, burrying his face in his hair as he spoke.
"Don't worry, Kazuki. I won't let him get you. I'll protect you. I promise." He took a deep breath, taking in Kazuki's intoxicating scent. "I won't let you go. Not like last time. I promise, Kazuki."

"That's not it!" the grey-haired youth said loudly as his head snapped up, those tearful eyes casting a look of pain up at the elder male. He looked so distraught it was almost too much to bear.
Whatever Kazuki was going to say was lost in sobs as he wriggled tighter into that embrace, painful visions swarming his mind as he cried.
It was a bright and sunny day, a small yellow butterfly caught the attention of a young grey-haired lad as he chased after the fluttering thing with a bright smile. "Wait up!" he called out, but the butterfly disappeared from his emerald vision just as a familiar figure walked up from behind.
"Neh, otouchan, I think today's the day Mom and I teach you all about everything, 'kay?"
He turned around, tiny cat ears twitching. Oh, it was Masumi!
"Teach me what, onee-san?"
The older girl smiled as she scooped her little brother up in her arms. It was only the three of them, him, Masumi, and their mother.
"You're a Sacrifice, Kazuki-chan, like Mommy and me. Well, at least we think you are...You don't have a name scar...yet?"
She sounded confused, as if the whole thing was truly puzzling.
"Onee-san...I don't have a name?"
"N-Nanashi-kun..."
Kazuki's tears still ran unchecked down his face as he continued to weep uncontrollably. Those intense green eyes, one could get lost in those emerald depths. He had to tell him, he had to say something. But the words wouldn't form.
There was no way to say it, it was too damn hard. But Kazuki finally worked up the courage.
"My name...it's n-not Restless, Na-Nanashi-kun..."

"N-nani!?" Nanashi stared at Kazuki as though he had just grown another head. Restless... wasn't his name? But he had seen the scar! It didn't make any sense...
"Kazuki... if that's not... your name... then what is your true name?"
((Compared to your post, mine is so god-damned short. XD))

It was safe to say at this moment, Kauzki was a little more than hysterical as his body was rocked with soft shaking sobs. It seemed his eyes were dry of tears, but there were still many more to be shed. To be honest, the grey-haired kitten looked worse than the very moment the two were reunited.
He looked downright awful.
"Th-that's it, N-N-Nanashi-kun," he said shakily as a twisted smile appeared upon his pale face, a hollow chuckle passed through his lips. He should tell him, he had to tell him.
"Th-the name on m-my b-b-back is j-just a regular s-scar..." Pulling down his shirt to expose the Restless mark, Kazuki laughed lightly once again. It was true, the mark appeared to be fading like any other scar would. This name was carved afterbirth, someone did this to him.
A sniffle, and the kitten continued on.
"I...I was born w-without o-one...I d-don't have a n-n-name, N-Nanashi-kun..."

Nanashi stared at the scar, speachless. Kazuki... didn't have a name...? One... without a name... Nameless. But it couldn't be... he wasn't supposed to have a true sacrifice... at least... that's what all the enemies he had encountered told him.
Were they wrong? Was Kazuki his true sacrifice? His other half...?
Something about the thought made him want to cry. In fact, he did so, as he reached out and brought Kazuki into his arms. "Baka!" He shouted at him. "Why the hell didn't you tell me sooner!? You're so damn stupid!"

"I know," he whispered quietly in response as those sad green eyes fell to half-mast; the poor creature was exhausted from crying. Still, tiny droplets ran down his cheeks as he snuggled into that loving embrace.
Yes, it had to be true, he never felt like this around anyone else. So warm, so cozy, so right, so safe.
So complete.
"...and I'm sorry I didn't say anything, I learned it the day I was taken. I wanted to say something for so long, Nanashi-kun..."
Although the two of them were the same, there were such differences in their experiences. Kazuki, for one, always had something fighting within, whether it was a cousin, a friend, or even Homare. He'd always known that feeling of belonging even if he was never anyone else's.
But poor Nanashi-kun, he thought, he's never known what that's like, he never knew what a Sacrifice or a Fighter was up until a year ago.
"I'm sorry," the kitten said with a sob.

Nanashi shook his head. "It.... it's alright. I understand." He said, pulling away and smiling down at the younger cat boy. A kinda, warm smile that offered silent comfort. "As long as we're together... everything will be alright. Because that's what it means... to be one, right?"
He took his hand, squeezing it tightly. "We'll run away from here. Together. To America or something. We'll go somewhere no one can find us. I'll find a way." He didn't know how he was going to manage it, but... he couldn't let Kazuki fall into the hands of that devil Homare again.

"Am-America?"
That's right! If there was one place to run, that would have to be the place! That's where Masumi and mother lived! They could be safe there!
With a small sniffle and a nod, Kazuki gazed up at the other boy with a soft, though still partially sad grin, wiping the tears from his eyes as he managed a tiny laugh.
"Y-yeah, Nanashi-kun. If w-we go to the States, my family will help us. We'll be sa-!!"
There was no warning, no alarm or forewarning to what happened next. Coming from seemingly out of nowhere was a figure in a black trench coat who leapt at the poor kitten, tearing him away from Nanashi with such swiftness. The two bodies fell back into an alleyway, vanishing into the shadows.
It nearly stopped Kazuki's heart as the hand clamped over his mouth, threatening to suffocating. As he managed to push away the hand, he screamed out for the other but was quickly silenced.
"NAN-"
"Settle down, Kazuki!!" was the immediate and calm response as the figure wrestled the little catboy on the ground.

"Kazuki!? KAZUKI!!" It had all happened so fast, Nanashi had absolutely no time to react as Kazuki was torn from him. He watched with a mixture of puzzlment and horror as Kazuki and a mysterious figure dissapeared into the shadows. Without a second's hesitation he jumped into the allyway after them. He could only barely make out the two figures on the wrestling on the ground, so he didn't even stop to think as he grabbed the nearest one and wrenched it away from it's counterpart, throwing it across the alley.
