Before the little Sacrifice had time to nuzzle into that protective hold, he found himself being swiftly whisked away by the other, the scenery passing by in a blur as he was pulled into a sprint. Turning his head back just slightly, Kazuki managed to see the truly horrifying grin upon the blonde's face. That bastard was smiling as if nothing happened, not an ounce of angry in those cold, heartless sapphire eyes. And it was that which scared the grey-haired boy the most.
With whatever strength he had left, the Sacrifice sped up just enough to be at Nanashi's side, gripping onto the other's arm with a soft noise of fear. Oh yes, he was terrified out of his mind that the blonde would follow.
But, alas, he did not.
Clutching his bleeding finger with a now-bloody white rag, Homare continued that devious smile, the smile of a devil. "Oh my, the little sinner has run away, whatever shall I do? Whatever shall...I do..." Such a frightening soft chuckle which followed the statement as the blonde Fighter turned on his heels and walked off into the night.

Nanashi didn't even look back as he ran. After what seemed like an eternity he felt a surge of relief as a cluster of apartment complexes appeared in the distance. They were almost there... in fact, the next few feet were a cinch as they ran up the stairs, past complaining neighbors, and finally approached his door. Apartment #B6. Fumbling for his keys he quickly opened the door and shoved the smaller boy inside, before entering behind him and slamming the door shut.
He then promptly collapsed onto the sofa. Breathing heavily he said, "I... I think we lost him."

Sure, that little 'jog' pretty much tuckered out the poor boy, and as soon as he was inside the apartment, he collapsed to his knees with a small gasp. There was such fatigue in those emerald eyes; the bags underneath them didn't help all that much either.
Gazing up towards the other male with a soft and tired smile, Kazuki wavered slightly as his vision began to blur and his body felt so heavy.
A moment later, the grey-haired boy lay passed out from exhaustion on the floor, curling up into a defensive ball in his subconscious state.
The poor kid.

Nanashi sighed as he stared at the small, huddled body on the floor. He never thought he'd feel sorry for the twerp, but he did. That fighter of his... he didn't know much about fighters and sacrfices and all that junk... but he knew that that damn fighter... was a complete and total sadistic asshole.
Shaking his head the young boy got up off the couch and knelt down to pick up Kazuki. He was lighter then he remembered... and alot skinnier...
"Jesus, kid... what the hell did you get yourself into?" He grumbled, carrying the unconcious kitten into his bedroom and setting him down on the twin bed. He couldn't help but have this sense of Deja Vu as he brought over a chair and sat beside the bed, staring at the sleeping form. "You just keep getting yourself hurt, don't you? Baka..."

There came no response from the unconscious lad for quite some time, twenty minutes later to be exact. It was the first noise, a rustle and slight squeak of the mattress as the grey-haired youth turned seemingly in sleep. But when he uttered something under his breath, Kazuki was swimming up through the levels of consciousness.
"Nnn...shi...kuhh..."
What could be roughly translated as a mumbled 'Nanashi-kun' purred out from the sleeping kitten's lips as his dull emerald eyes fluttered open with much effort. The poor thing still looked in terrible shape, but at least there was a ghost of a smile on his pale face.
For the longest time, Kazuki merely stared at the other, giving no other response, only staring and thinking. Whatever could the boy be thinking? It was impossible to tell, but after a few minutes, and a strange little grumble, the answer showed itself.
"...Nanashi-kun, can I have something to eat?"

Nanashi sweatdroped. "Ah... sure..." He replied, getting up out of his seat and trudging towards the kitchen. As he opened his fridge, he suddenly reeled backwards as the most horrible smell came from his fridge. Moldy cheese lay rotting on the top shelf, the source of the smell. But what was most horrifying was the green goop in the far bottom corner... which seemed to be moving. Quickly, Nanashi closed the refridgerator door and decided that he ought to look for something to eat elsewhere.
Searching his cupboards all he found was dust, and an occasional spider here or there. Finally, he sighed. It seemed he would have to get into his emergency food stash...
A few minutes later Nanashi came back with several boxes of strawberry pocky. He tossed them over to Kazuki. "Here."

By the time the other had returned, Kazuki now sat on the side of the bed, legs dangling off as his feet rested softly on the floor. He looked a little better as his eyes followed the other as he entered the room, well his face did anyway. When he was sitting up, it was now clear to see just how emaciated he really did look. It almost seemed as if he wasn't wearing a shirt, one could sickly see his ribs. Despite being clothed, that was, in fact, the case.
In a dull response, Kazuki smiled softly, catching a few of the boxes thrown at him, and later leaning down to get the few he'd missed. Giving a quiet thanks to the other male, it took the grey-haired boy a mere few seconds to literally devour as much as the strawberry snacks as he could.
The poor kitten was starving, he was.
After he'd managed to wipe out the pocky population from the boxes, he wiped his mouth with his sleeve, looking up with those hollow emerald eyes.
"Th-thank you, Nanashi-kun..."
He didn't want to say he was still hungry, well, still famished to be exact, so he simply gave a weak smile and what could be considered a small chuckle.

"Dun' mention it." Nanashi replied, though he had to admit he was a bit dissapointed that he had to let go of his last few boxes of pocky. He sat in the chair next to the bed again and scrutinized the young kitten behind dark bangs. "How long... has it been since you've eaten?" He asked, noting the ribs peeking out of the boy's shirt and his complexion.
Just what exactly had he gone through this last whole year?

"Three days, not counting today."
Without missing a beat, the grey-haired kitten answered the other's question with a pitiful little tone. Three days, well, technically three and a half, but still, that's a long time to go without food. Trying to ignore the constant groaning of his stomach, Kazuki swallowed the lump in his throat as he rose his head up to look directly at Nanashi.
"Y-you see, it was the same time I heard about you again, and I tried to...I wanted to escape, but Homare-san..."
It was at this moment the younger male trailed off as painful memories from three days prior resurfaced, causing him to bite his lower lip.
"A-anyway, n-n-none of it matters now, I suppose."
Kazuki looked away, what horrors did lay behind those lovely emerald eyes...

Nanashi's gaze softened. He could only imagine... after what he had seen of that guy... he wouldn't be surprised by anything. But he didn't think it'd be right to ask him about it... not yet... Sighing, he stood up and stretched.
"Well... what do you say we go out to eat? I'm not exactly rich at the moment, but... I hear they've got a really good dollar menu at Wendy's (copyrighted 'cause they just are). I'm sure you've still gotta be hungry." He smiled and held out his hand, waiting for the boy to take it.

"Oh?'
Blinking dully at the offered hand before him, Kazuki merely sat on the bed, staring in amazement at that simple gesture. How many times had he seen this in his head? Nanashi-kun, holding out his hand to him. It nearly made the poor kid cry. He'd always imagine this, an escape from his daily Hellhole of a life. The offering of freedom.
"N-Nanashi-kun," said the grey-haired youth with tears beading at the corners of his eyes, "I...N-nevermind."
Taking the other's hand sheepishly, Kazuki slowly got to his feet, a tiny smile curling his lips.
"To Wendy's then, yes?"

Seemingly obvlivious of the younger cat's raging emotions Nanashi smiled brightly. "Alright! Let's go!" He exclaimed, grasping the younger cat's hand and pulling him out the door. He didn't even bother to lock it as he and Kazuki practically raced down the stairs. He felt... happy. Happier then he ever had for the last year. He felt almost... whole again. Now that Kazuki was with him again... he felt like he had purpose. Not like an empty shell.
Wendy's wasn't very far from his apartment. In fact, it was right next door. It wasn't long before both cat boys had entered into the bright flouerescent world of fast food, the strong smell of greese and ketchup floating through the artificial air.

The grey-haired boy noticed it as well; the emptiness within his soul had somehow miraculously been filled with a sense of joy and belonging. Even before his terrible year-long ordeal, Kazuki always felt differently around the other than anyone he'd even been around. He had found the will to smile again.
As he basically ran down the stairs of the apartment with the elder cat, a surefire grin appeared on his still-gaunt face, but at least it was a start. Closing his eyes in a thoughtful manner, Kazuki thanked his lucky stars to know what it was like to be in the light of joy once again.
When he passed the threshold of the Wendy's with Nanashi, the younger kitten basically latched onto the other's arm, the AC was always a little to high in fast food places. It was when his catty ears twitched at a voice in the distant dining area of the building did the boy let go slightly.
"Oh, sorry Nanashi-kun, it's just cold in here..."

"It's alright." Nanashi replied casually as he walked over to the empty line. "Hey, uhmm.... Mio." He greeted the cashier whose nametag read "Mio". "Lessee... I'd like a bacon cheeseburger, fries and a drink from the dollar menu please..." He turned over towards Kazuki. "What do you want? You can get as much as you want." After all, he had some of his PS2 savings on him.
At a table not too far away a pair of ears twitched at the familiar voice. "Huh?" The younger Fearless brother blinked, several frenchfries sticking out of his mouth as he turned around in his seat to see who it was. When he saw Nanashi his mouth flew open in shock, his fries falling to the floor. "Uwaaah!? Oniisan!! It's Nameless!!!" He exclaimed, jumping out of his seat and pointing at Nanashi rather rudely.

"Hmph, you didn't realize it, did you Otouchan?"
Shaking his earless head with a soft chuckle, the elder of the Fearless brothers took an absentminded sip from a delicious medium chocolate frosty, eyes narrowing to half-mast. "You didn't feel that spike as soon as they walked in? And I thought you'd gotten better in this past year."
At the same time the grey-haired feline was about ready to gingerly order, he heard that familiar voice scream out the other male's name. Green eyes instantly widening at the recognition of Fearless, Kazuki looked a little scared himself.
"Y-you two?" said the boy in a just-above normal voice.
"Hmph, well if it isn't X's lapdog..."
"..."
A grin from the elder brother as he shoved a handful of fries into his mouth, munching away on them as he stared at the two.
Meanwhile, Kazuki looked paler than usual.
