Story On the outskirts of Kyoto... there lies a mansion...
This mansion has been abandoned for years and is now all but forgotten. It's residents long dead it is hidden from the world around it by thick forests and tall mountains. Local rumors tell of gruesome Shinto rituals performed there. But they are just rumors.... right?
Rumors or not the mansion exists... and those who have been brave, or foolish, enough to travel there... have never come back.
It is January 1st, 1990. As a celebration of the New Year the students of Kurasaki High have left on a field trip to a hotspring's resort in Kyoto. A small group of students, ranging in grades, were unlucky enough to get the small bus... and the crappy driver. After several hours of being lost the driver eventually dropped the students off at what appeared to be a large resort. A pathway surrounded by Sakura trees leading to a large house now lies before them. They have no idea what horrors lie ahead....

"God damn... bus driver..." Akira Murasaki murmured as he made his way down a long sakura blossom covered path, his footsteps crushing the small petals one by one. The incompetant excuse for a bus driver had just dropped them all without an explanation and then sped off. There was something about this place... that just gave him the chills.
Shaking his head he shoved back his pale bangs absentmindedly with one hand before looking around at the dozens of sakura trees lineing the path. He had went ahead of the other students as he wasn't exactly a social individual. But now he was begining to regret doing so.
"Damn... this place is creepy..." He muttered, stopping near one of the larger trees. "Maybe... I should head back...?

It was within a matter of moments that the boy had even come close to the largest of the trees did a terrifying flurry of petals carried by a gust of wind attack the unsuspecting boy. It wasn't alarming enough to frighten someone, but the soft brush of petals upon skin caressed as softly as a lost lover.
"You should be careful, sakura petals can steal your soul, you know..."
Oh, there seemed to be someone standing there, next to the other, but slightly behind. Right in the boy's blindspot. Whoever it was, judging by the voice, it probably could have been one of the older students that had snuck up on the younger teen.
"You should...be careful..."
Whoever was there was gone as if no one was ever standing there.
It was definitely creepy.

"Aa~!"
Where had that noise come from?
All one had to do was look at the nearby tree; a frail, scrawny looking frame stood under it, shaking from shyness and perhaps something else. His pink lips were pressed together into a deep frown, thin eyebrows furrowed into an implied line of indecisiveness.
The poor child has nearly fell getting off of the bush thanks to those pushy older students. He was frail, clumsy, and wasn't used to such roughness. This was even his first time attending a public school, he had to admit, and everything was so...new...
He didn't want to talk to anyone, merely out of discomfort. He would rather stay in the shade of this nice tree, where the sun couldn't pound down upon him and give him a mighty headache.
"N-ne... you'll keep me company...won't you...?"
But the boy knew the tree couldn't answer. The only confort he received was the wind blowing through his dark locks, lilac eyes staring on at the crowd with slight distaste.

An immense chill went up Akira's spine as he heard a seemingly disembodied voice whisper almost lovingly to him. "What the...!?" He turned quickly to see nobody behind him. No one but a frail looking boy a few feet away.
Seeing as how he was a bit too freaked to think about things rationally he immediately assumed it was this boy who had freaked him out.
"Oi! You!!" He shouted, storming over towards him. "What the hell was that for, huh!?"

A girl with short, blue-black hair walked ahead, her hands ringing together tightly. She had an extremely bad feeling about this place. And she knew when to trust her emotions.
Glancing off to the side, she noticed two other boys that she had seen on the bus.
Come on, Kasumi. Do you really think you'll get far by yourself? Maybe you should stick with them until you find some help . . .
She sighed, staying away from them, though her deep cold eyes watched their every move.

The black-haired boy gave no definite reply to the other, instead giving a tiny murmur and clinging tightly to the friendly tree. Had he upset this boy somehow? How? What did he do wrong? Oh no...it was his first class trip and everyone already hated him...!
"I-I didn't do anything to you, sir! Not on purpose...A-ask Charlie!" It seemed as if he were talking about the tree, as if it were a real, living being. "I've been here...the whole time." Those thin hands tightened to the bark like a small child hiding behind its parent's leg.
The tree never gave an answer, never even budged, yet Haruka still treated it as a living being.
What a screwball.

".... Charlie?" He looked up at the tree, then back at the boy, then at the tree again. "Riiiight.... take your pills, kid." He muttered before turning and walking away. Even if the kid DID do something he was too damn... weird to bother with.
Instead he started to head towards the mansion. Maybe if they were lucky there would be a phone inside so that they could call for help.

The mansion itself was utterly beautiful in its sheer creepiness. It seemed to be only three or so stories, and the average size of the manor seemed normal in regards to others. But there was something in the air, something in the very earth. The eerie feelings cast out from this mansion didn't subside when a small gust of wind blew down the pathway towards the front doors, as if beckoning.
The subtle voices on the wind didn't help either.
So many whispered secrets, so many voices, so much pain.
The closer one got to the doors, the louder the voices grew. It was only when the sound of someone either coming out from or going in past the doors sounded did the voices stop and melt into the wind.
There was someone there, no worse, there was someone inside the mansion. And whoever it was, sounded like they were coming out.
The suspicions were denied when the sound faded away with soft footfall, and no one came out from the doors.
Apparently, someone had gone inside the manor...But who would do such a stupid thing?

Akira's eyes narrowed in suspicion as he heard someone enter the mansion. A classmate? If so, what was he thinking going in alone?
"Hey, wait!" He shouted, running the rest of the way up the stairs and to the mansion door. Throwing it open he quickly entered the building and looked around for whoever it was that had entered.

As soon as the boy was inside the manor, everything went horribly cold and a black void threatened to swallow the world. Had someone screamed, or was it just one's imagination? The darkness subsided a moment later, revealing the mansion's interior. Nothing special, it looked like any old mansion, aside from the decay of mold and the broken wood, neglected it was.
After the initial dirt ditch where a few pairs of old sandals lay lost and alone, there was a hallway. The hall was illuminated with tiny oil lamps, the soft orange-yellow flames flickering in silence.
Nothing seemed too out of the ordinary, well, aside from the figure standing there at the end of the hall. Standing there, watching this new intruder. Staring, watching, waiting.
Truthfully it was terrifying, the person stood slightly hunched, and their body hidden away from the candleglow. It seemed almost as if the person wasn't even there, but when that figure moved deeper into the manor, the suspicions were confirmed.
Whoever it was, it didn't seem to be a student; something just didn't feel all too right about the whole thing anyway.

"What...?" Akira peered into the darkness, trying to make out the figure. Whatever it was... it didn't seem to resemble anyone he knew. Ignoring the sinking feeling he got in his stomach he slowly made his way towards the shadow, thinking that maybe this person could help him.
"Hey, do you live here or something?" He asked. "Do you have a phone I could use?" For some reason something inside him kept telling him to turn around and go back. He could thumb a ride home or something. Something told him that he didn't want to stay in this place a moment longer.
But he kept ignoring that something.

There was sobbing, sorrowful, scared sobbing. Whoever it was that shared the corridor with the other, was crying. It sounded like a man, a man who had seen unspeakable horrors. It was around the corner where the man sat curled up in a pitiful slump. He was hugging his knees to his chest, babbling incoherently about something.
"...gone mad, he's gone mad, the young master's gone mad..."
Repeating the words over and over again, it seemed difficult to get in any word to this terrified figure. It was a shame too, that the shadows were hiding any and all chance of one seeing the horrendous gashes through the man's back and covering his arms.
"...the younger master, he's gone mad, gone mad, the younger master..."

Kasumi sighed, seeing a student enter the mansion and she followed after him, chewing her lip.
"Hey." she said, putting her hand on Akira's shoulder. "You shouldn't wander off by yourself you kno . . . What the . . . . ."
Her eyes fell upon the cowering man.
"Oh, my God." she said. "What happened?"
